Dattatraya demands KCR govt to respond on farmers’ suicides

Bandaru Dattatraya here on Saturday demanded that the TRS government immediately respond to the increasing number of suicides by farmers in the State.

Speaking to mediapersons here, the Union minister demanded that the State government announce a list of drought-affected mandals in the State immediately and officially celebrate September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day. He also lamented that the working class in the country meted out injustice in the matter of bonus due to obstructions by the Opposition parties in Parliament.

Bemoaning that the farming community was facing unprecedented drought this year, Dattatraya assured that the Narendra Modi government would come to their rescue of the distressed farmers and the needed financial assistance would be sanctioned to the State government. Therefore, the State government should immediately identify and announce the list of the drought affected mandals in the State, he added.

Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was well aware of the problems of the farmers, Dattatraya said the PM was seriously planning to bring an Integrated Farmers Insurance Scheme for the welfare of the farming community. (NSS)
