Dead bodies of newly-born girls found in Nalas and Bushes in Hyd and RR Districts

Hyderabad: It has become routine to throw live or dead girl children in dirty Nalas and Bushes in Hyd. and RR Districts.

According to a report of Ballala Hakkula Sangam, 16 newly-born dead girl children were found during the last four months.

The report says that on an average every month about 15 unclaimed dead bodies of girls are found.

It may be noted that a program of action was finalized to stop the deaths of newly born girl children. More than the dead bodies of girl children, the instances of live girls are being thrown in Nalas and Bushes are on the increase.

Ms. K. R. S. Lakshmi Devi, Director of Women and Child Welfare told that on 25th March, a newly born dead girl child was found in the dirty Nalas of Vikharabad. The local residents saw the dead body of the girl child and informed the police. Police is searching for her parents. During the past four months, 18 such incidents took place in Hyderabad and RR Districts.
