Deepika Kumari matches world record at Archery World Cup

New Delhi : Ace Indian archer Deepika Kumari displayed a phenomenal performance as she equalled the world record in the woman’s recurve event at the Archery World Cup in Shanghai on Wednesday.

“Deepika Kumari equals the #worldrecord at #WCShanghai: But two beaten! # archery,” said the official Twitter handle of World Archery.

The 21-year-old posted a score of 686 out of 720 to match the world record set by Ki Bo-Bae of South Korea and finish first in the qualifying round.

Earlier this year, Deepika, the four-time Archery World Cup final runner-up, was conferred with the Padma Shri award for her contributions to sports in India. (ANI)
