Delhi assembly spl session to be stormy

New Delhi: The two-day special session of Delhi Assembly beginning tomorrow is expected to be a stormy one as Opposition BJP plans to come down hard on the AAP government on a range of issues including Premium Bus Service Scheme, non-clearance of dues of all three civic-bodies and purchase of water tanks.

As the Arvind Kejriwal government has called the special session to discuss the working of all three BJP-controlled MCDs, Opposition will seek to corner it on the these issues inside the House.

Last week, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that the Delhi Assembly session has been called to discuss how BJP’s MCD has made whole of the national capital into a garbage bin due to its corruption and mismanagement.

“During the two-day special session, members of the Assembly will discuss the working of the three civic bodies,” said a senior government official.

Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta said that he would bring adjournment motion to discuss premium bus service case which is under scanner of Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi Government.

“The Opposition will force the government to discuss the case of Premium Bus Service Scheme in place of discussing the working of three MCDs,” Gupta said.

The Special Session of the Assembly comes at a time when the Aam Aadmi Party is gearing up for elections to the three civic bodies — East Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation and South Delhi Municipal Corporation — to be held next year.

Recently, the AAP government ordered crackdown against civic bodies over “lack of cleanliness” in the national capital following which the district magistrates issued over 300 conditional orders seeking explanation from the civic officials and warned of legal action against them.
