New Delhi: After CM Yogi cancelled 15 public holidays in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi CM Manish Sisodia on Friday also cancelled holidays celebrating birth or death anniversaries of some of the eminent personalities.

Sisodia appreciated the step taken by the Yogi Adityanath’s government and tweeted. “The UP government has made a good start and we should always be ready to learn from such examples,” a report of HT claimed.

The chief secretary is directed to take further steps in this regard. He also appreciated the initialisation of Mohalla clinic and abolition of red beacon system.

Delhi Government has not yet declared the names of the holidays to be cancelled. The step was taken in a response of already cancelled holidays in UP by CM Adityanath.

Out of the 42 public holidays, 17 are related with birth and death anniversaries of some dignitaries declared by the previous governments.
