Demand up for Bharat Ratna for Virat Kohli

New Delhi: Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, who has been in news for his spectacular match-winning knocks, is now making headlines for a different reasons. A pitch and a demand for the same has already been made on his behalf by the All India Gaming Federation (AIGF). The AIGF has written to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, demanding the honour for Kohli.

In the letter, the AIGF says “Mr. Kohli is arguably the best cricketer ever to have played in the country and by some estimates has even surpassed the performance of Mr. Sachin Tendulkar.” The letter also pointed out that Kohli’s batting average is among the best in the world. 27-year-old Kohli is the Test cricket captain of Indian cricket team and he has been playing in the International team for the past five years. He had made his Test debut in West Indies in July 2011. Kohli has scored 11 Test and 25 ODI centuries and is the fastest cricketer to score 10 ODI centuries.
