Detained Hyderabadi pilgrim released in Madina Munawwara


Hyderabad: The Hyderabadi pilgrim who was detained by Immigration Authorities as his fingerprints didn’t match his previously taken fingerprints, has been finally released. Immigration authorities have given clearance to the fingerprints and permitted him to return to his country.

62-year-old, pilgrim, Basheeruddin was detained at Madina Airport on October 10, as his fingerprint matched to a person wanted by Saudi police. On the representation of Special Officer Hajj Committee Prof. S A Shukoor, Indian Consulate and authorities of Indian Hajj Mission contacted with the Saudi Officials and tried to release him.

According to sources Immigration Authorities decided to take the finger print again and after taking another fingerprint gave clean chit to Haji Basheeruddin. His son Faheemuddin, who also accompanies him in Madina Munawwara, has thanked Prof. S A Shukoor for ensuring his father’s release. Thus Haji Basheeruddin’s return was made possible four days after the schedule. Indian Consulate and Hajj Mission are making arrangements to send him to Bangalore or Mumbai. He is likely to return home within two days.
