Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy here on Thursday stressed the need to bring about awareness among the public about the severe ill-effects due to diabetes.
The minister, along with cine actor Navdeep, flagged off the “Beat Diabetes Walkathon” organized by Apollo Sugar Clinics, Road no 12 Banjara Hills in connection with World Health Day Awareness Walk. Seventy-five member Apollo Sugar Team, general public participated in the program. The minister was the chief guest at 5K and 2k Walkathon started at 7 am.
The Health Minister said diabetes was affected the people all over the world and every one was suffering from severe health problems due to lack of awareness about the disease. He said general public should be aware of diabetes and detect it at early stage so that effective management can be done. The State government was in the forefront in supporting the cause and spreading awareness about diabetes to rural areas. (NSS)
