Dhoni wary of buoyant Bangladesh ahead of Asia Cup final

Mirpur : India’s limited-overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni believes that Asia Cup finalists Bangladesh have improved as a side over the years, insisting that defeating a home side is always difficult.

Although India comfortably trounced the hosts by 45 runs in the opening match of the tournament, Bangladesh displayed tremendous amount of resilience as they won three successive matches to advance to the final.

“We will have to come up with another big performance in the final. Bangladesh are a good team and they have improved a lot. It should be a good final,” Dhoni told reporters.

“Any good team, if they are the home team, they will always know the conditions very well. So to beat a home team is always difficult. Also Bangladesh, over the years has developed a lot. They have improved their strength,” the Indian captain added.

India, which hosts next week’s World T20, will start as favourites to win the continental trophy on Sunday. (ANI)
