Dialysis, intensive care facility at Area Hospitals soon: Minister

Poor people in villages, towns and districts will get better health services as the State government will set up dialysis centers and intensive care centers in the Area hospitals and Cancer units in district hospitals.

This was stated by Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy at a media conference at Parigi mandal headquarters in Ranga Reddy district on Sunday. Stating that the government has constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee to expedite the process of improving health facilities in the hospitals, the minister said the local hospitals will be upgraded with all facilities like beds, doctors, staff and medicines.

It was also decided to increase bed strength in mandal-level hospitals to 30, Assembly segments to 100 and district headquarters to 1,000, he said, adding “Soon we will recruit doctors and medical staff to provide better health services at all these hospitals”, he remarked. The Cabinet Sub-Committee has taken key decisions to overhaul the health system across the State, he said. Its report will soon be submitted to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for further action, the Health Minister said.
