Diggy accuses KCR of restoring erstwhile Nizam rule in T

AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh has said the TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has brought back erstwhile Nizam’s autocratic rule in Telangana State and remained indifferent towards the plight of farmers and their suicides.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, along with TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Leader of Opposition in Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Telangana Youth Congress president Anil Kumar Yadav and newly joined retired IFS officer Vinod Kumar, Digvijay Singh alleged that the TRS government did nothing during one and-a-half-year rule. Chief Minister KCR showers promises but never implements them, he quipped.

The Congress leader alleged that KCR sent out the Opposition members from the Assembly like a dictator and was not in a position to look into the worsening condition of farmers in the State. The farmers were not getting new loans as the government failed to implement the loan waiver scheme at one stroke, he said. As the TRS government failed to help them by waiving their crop loans, the farmers were forced to take loans from greedy money lenders at exorbitant interest rate, he said, adding that the government also failed to distribute three acre land pattas to SCs and STs as promised on the eve of Assembly elections.

The AICC leader said the TRS government failed to set up a Health University and failed to provide jobs to tribal youth so far. He also said five Muslim undertrials were ruthlessly killed in fake encounters near Aler in Nalgonda district. He alleged though Tur dal price rose to Rs 200, the Union Minister Arun Jaitly was speaking lies on prices of pulses.

Under the Modi regime, the relations with Nepal and Pakistan deteriorated and Russia was supplying arms to Pakistan due to PM Narendra Modi’s attitude. He alleged that the PM was speaking about ‘Beef eating’ issue in order to cover up his inefficiency. Alleging that the BJP agenda was to polarize the religion on RSS ideology and destroy secularism in the country, Digvijay made it clear that the Congress would not be affected if the BJP makes public Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s records. He also recalled that Netaji had banned RSS for killing Gandhiji. He alleged that Modi was trying to mislead the people by raising irrelevant issues.

Questioning Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Amaravati foundation stone laying ceremony on October 22, Digvijay asked Naidu as to why he was not demanding the Prime Minister to grant special status to Andhra Pradesh state. “Even YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was not demanding Narendra Modi on special status to Andhra Pradesh state”, he pointed out. He said AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi only demanded Prime Minister to fulfill the assurances made to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.

Alleging that the RSS was against the Constitution and its Chief Mohan Bhagat spoke against reservations, Digvijay said the Congress party was celebrating the 125th birth anniversaries of former Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru and B R Ambedkar. Responding to a question, Digvijay said the Congress would decide candidate for the Warangal by-election within a week. He said while the Congress would hold party workers meeting at Narayankhed on October 29, the TRS was trying to spend total budget by laying roads and so on. (NSS)
