Digvijay dares govt. to send Vadra to jail

New Delhi: Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Sunday dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre to initiate action against Robert Vadra if he has broken or violated any law, adding that all attempts are being made to defame Sonia Gandhi’s family.

“If he ( Robert Vadra) has violated any law, then he should be sent to jail. But till date they have never mentioned the law that he has broken. They only say that he will be sent to jail. Your (BJP) government is in Haryana, Rajasthan and at the Centre then instead of making statements why don’t you do what you want to,” Singh told the media here.

“Rahul Gandhi ji has rightly said, ‘Stop throwing dirt, if you have 56-inch chest then send me to jail’.

Another Congress leader Rajiv Shukla echoing similar sentiments backed Vadra’s assertion that he is being used as a political tool.

Vadra, whose land deals are being probed in the BJP-ruled states of Haryana and Rajasthan, earlier today said that a distinction should be made between him as an individual conducting business like anyone else and the politics of his wife’s family ‘without constantly attempting to link the two’.

Vadra alleged that the BJP was using attacks on him as a ‘political tool to divert public attention’.

The Congress president’s son-in-law further said in an interview that he has always conducted business transparently in accordance with the law but he was being ‘singled out’ and ‘lies’ were spread about him. (ANI)
