‘Digvijay inspired by Kejriwal’: BJP on allegations against Gadkari

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday outrightly rejected Digvijay Singh’s allegations of corruption against Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, saying that the Congress general secretary was inspired by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

“We outrightly reject (Congress allegations). Digvijay Singh is inspired by Arvind Kejriwal, who just levels allegation to be in the media. He (Digvijay) is doing a similar thing. There is no need to speak about those who are inspired by Kejriwal, BJP rejects such allegations,” BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh told ANI.

Meanwhile, Gadkari has rubbished the corruption charges levelled against him by the Congress general secretary and said that he has always been given a clean chit as he never favoured anyone while giving tenders.

Singh had earlier accused Gadkari of awarding a Rs. 10,000 crore tender to a single bidder, which is unheard of.

“This is a clear case of corruption at the highest level and I demand that Mr. Nitin Gadkari should be sacked by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, if he sincerely believes in controlling corruption in his government. It is an open violation of the CVC guidelines, and I have enclosed adequate proof.

I am also going to write to the Prime Minister, a letter separately, which I will be releasing after it has been delivered,” he had said.
