Domino’s unveils pizza delivery robot ‘Dru’

New Delhi : American restaurant chain and international franchise pizza delivery corporation Domino’s pizza has unveiled world’s first autonomous pizza delivery vehicle ‘Dru’.

The robot uses the company’s GPS tracking data and has a sensory system that enable it to perceive obstacles and navigate its path and travel unassisted to a customer’s address.

“While he won’t be taking to the streets tomorrow, DRU is a big step forward in the work Domino’s is doing in the future commercialiSation of this technology,” Domino’s said in a statement.

Founded in 1960, Domino’s is the second-largest pizza chain in the United States (after Pizza Hut) and the largest worldwide, with more than 10,000 corporate and franchised stores in 70 countries. Domino’s Pizza was sold to Bain Capital in 1998 and went public in 2004. (ANI)
