London: Dr Saleha Jaffer of Telangana State has been elected as the Mayor of Lambeth city, South London. Saleha, was born in Nalgonda district in Telangana and migrated to UK in 1970. She entered politics in 2014 through the Labour party.
She previously held the post of the Deputy Mayor of Lambeth city and took charge as Mayor of the city, last week.
Dr. Saleha had visited Hyderabad city a year ago in the capacity of deputy mayor and she took charge as mayor of Lambeth city just last week. She also previously held the post of the deputy mayor of the city.
