Dubai to get tallest air-suspended tower

Dubai: The speculative Analemma Tower is being proposed in Dubai by the Clouds Architecture. Dubai is selected as the site of a futuristic, asteroid-suspended skyscraper which orbits around the world at an altitude of 50, 000 km from the earth.

According to the news published in Khaleej Times, on the website of a New York based firm, it is stated that this tower will be based on space-based supporting foundation instead of an earth-based foundation. This system is referred to as the Universal Orbital Support System (UOSS).

It is further stated that in this system, a high-strength cable will be used to suspend super tall tower. This system is feasible anywhere on the earth as the tower is suspended in the air. However, Clouds Architecture suggested Dubai as the best location for this tower.

If implemented, this would be the tallest tower in the world.

Tower will be powered by space-based solar panels which will be installed in the outer atmosphere. Water supply to the tower would be from rain and clouds which would be filtered and recycled in a semi-closed loop.

Cloud Architecture further noted that this project will be an expensive one. However, if trends of hike in land price continue, then this project would not look expensive.
