Dy. CM assures release of budget for renovation of Makkah Masjid

Hyderabad: Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Dy. CM of Telangana State reviewed the arrangements of Makkah Masjid yesterday after Friday prayer. He was accompanied by Opposition Leader of Congress, Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbir and Mr. Abdul Qayum Khan, DGP of ACB. All the three supported that steps should be taken on war footings to provide all the facilities in Makkah Masjid in order to maintain its grandeur.

 

The officials of Makkah Masjid informed that Archeological Survey of India has prepared an estimate of Rs. 1.75 crore for the renovation of the roof of Makkah Masjid which has been sent to Govt. of India for its approval. Mr. Mahmood Ali told that Govt. would release the entire amount for the renovation of Makkah Masjid. He instructed the officials to prepare project report so that the required funds would be released. He also said that he would visit Makkah Masjid within a week. Mr. A.K. Khan impressed up on the need for getting CCTV cameras repaired. It may be mentioned that Makkah Masjid has 23 CCTV cameras but all of them are not functioning for a long time. Recently, a team of experts had visited Makkah Masjid for their repairs but nothing moved forward. It was decided to install new CCTV cameras in order to streamline the security of Makkah Masjid. Issues like providing vacuum cleaner, public address system, construction of toilet, increase in the number of employees and enhancement of their salaries and other issues came up for discussion.
