Dy CM promises to fill teachers’ vacancies in schools

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Thursday informed that the State Government has appointed 7,491 Vidya Volunteers on vacant posts in schools across Telangana State. He said another 1200 Vidya Volunteers would be recruited soon.

Speaking to media persons at the State Secretariat here, Kadiyam said that the appointments were made in a highly transparent manner. He said Vidya Volunteers were selected on the basis of merit in all the districts under the supervision of District Collector. He said so far, 6,480 Vidya Volunteers have reported for duty. He asked the remaining selected candidates to report the schools concerned by October 5.

The Deputy CM claimed that no recommendation or irregularities were tolerated in the appointments. He said each volunteer would be paid monthly honorarium of Rs. 8,000. He said the appointments were done to save the academic year of students. He said the School Education Department has been asked to identify different vacancies in all government schools in the State. (INN)
