e-toilets: GHMC’s new year gift to city denizens

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will install a dozen of modern electronic toilets (e-toilets) at various places of the city from January 17. These public toilets will ensure cleanliness and hygiene and will be user-friendly.
During the first phase, the e-toilets would be installed at major tourism spots like Charminar, Golconda and Tank Bund. Besides tourist spots, e-toilets would also be set up at General Bazaar, Kothi Women’s college, Gandhi Hospital and in all IT corridors.

The e-toilets do not require regular manual cleaning and maintenance as they will have automatic self-flushing and self-cleaning mechanisms and would have remote monitoring capabilities and their health status can be tracked through web. The toilets will have coin-operated entry.

The toilets used for men would cost of Rs 6.35 lakh each, while those for women will cost Rs 7.30 lakh each.
