EAMCET on May 15, TET on May 22: Dy CM

The Telangana State Government today decided to conduct Eamcet 2016 on May 15 and TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) on May 22, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari has said.

Addressing the at the Secretariat here on Monday, Srihari said based on Supreme Court’s verdict on NEET on May 3, the State government may change the schedule of Medicine examinations, if necessary. The State Government is opposing the NEET through Article 371 D and will abide by the apex court’s verdict, he said. Eamcet 2016 results comprising ranks will be announced on May 27, counseling will be conducted in June and classes will begin from July 1 without any hindrance to the academic year, he said. The State Government has prepared to conduct the Eamcet 2016 in a smooth manner and there is no need of panic for students and parents. The Candidates can download hall-tickets online from May 12. The 1,44,801 Engineering students will take examination from 10 am to 1 pm and 1,10,987 Agriculture and Medicine streams students will take the exams from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Similarly TET examination will be conducted on May 22, i.e., Sunday and the students can download their hall-tickets online from May 13. It was decided to conduct exams only in government colleges and institutions.

82.57 per cent pass in Polytechnic

In Polytechnic examinations held on April 21, some 82.52 per cent students i.e.,1,03,001qualified out of 1.24,747 attended. He also said eight students scored 120 marks out of 120 in the exam. There are a total of 58,080 seats in 223 polytechnic colleges (54 Government and 169 Private). The ranks can be downloaded using password resupolyts@2016. The officials were directed to provide five lakh students studying in 1,350 colleges and institutions of the government with all facilities like water, toilets, OR plants, compound walls and CC cameras by July 31, he said. The same facilities will be provided to schools and high schools in a phased manner, he added. (NSS)
