Eight Members of Snake Gang Found Guilty in Gang Rape, Other crimes

A local court here today found guilty eight persons of a snake gang involved in a gang-rape and other crimes by terrorizing people using snakes.

       

After going through the case, Rangareddy court found eight accused guilty, and the quantum of punishment would be announced tomorrow. However, the court rejected the charges against the ninth accused due to lack of evidence.

           

It may be mentioned here that the snake gang has created a scare among the people. It was reported that the gang members gate crashed in to a farmhouse on July 31, 2014 on the city outskirts and gang raped a girl in front of her boy friend. The accused were arrested by the Cyberabad police after a massive operation in the old city, in which 400 policemen participated.. The police filed cases against them under various sections of IPC. After a through probe, the police filed charge sheet against nine accused. An investigation revealed that the gang was involved in several crimes including extortion,  and was also settling disputes.    

The accused who were found guilty in the case include Faisal Dayani, Khadar Barakab, Tayyab Baslam, Md Parvez, Ali Barakab and Salam Hundi. Of the eight accused, seven are in Cherapalli jail while two others are out of jail on bail.(NSS)
