Emraan hopes ‘Baadshaho’ turns out bigger than ‘Once Upon…’

Mumbai: Actor Emraan Hashmi is hopeful that his forthcoming film “Baadshaho” will be a bigger hit than his earlier blockbuster “Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai”.

Directed by Milan Luthria, “Baadshaho” stars AjayDevgn and Emraan. The trio last worked together in “Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai” in 2010, which went on to become a hit.

When asked if he hopes to recreate the magic of the crime-drama, Emraan told PTI in an interview, “Yes, of course, I hope to. But we will have to keep you guys guessing about just what it (the film) is about. It will be, God willing, bigger and grander than ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai’.”

The film, which also stars Esha Gupta, is reportedly set during the 70s Emergency period.

The 37-year-old “Shanghai” actor is also excited about his home production “Captain Nawab”.

The film will be helmed by Tony D’Souza, who earlier directed the recently released Emraan-starrer “Azhar”.

Emraan plays a soldier in the film and says his role will be very demanding and require him to undergo military training as well.

“It (the film) is inspired by true event. But this is as much as I can tell you. It will be a very challenging role for me. I’ll be getting military training for that because it deals with a person in Army. I’ll have to start training for that after ‘Baadshaho’,” he said.

Emraan, currently, is looking forward to the release of “Raaz Reboot”, which is the fourth installment of the “Raaz” franchise.

Also starring Gaurav Arora and Kirti Kharbanda, in her Bollywood debut, the movie is set to hit the screens on September 16.
