Pitching on the BJP’s agenda of development in Bihar and expressing confidence of winning the ongoing Assembly polls in the state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the whole country will be celebrating Diwali on November 8 when the poll results will be declared.

“Not only people of Bihar but the whole country will celebrate Diwali on November 8 when the poll results will be declared. The people of Bihar have made up their mind to give him(Nitish) a farewell,” Prime Minister Modi said while addressing a rally.

In an apparent reference to Bihar Chief minister Nitish Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav as brothers, Modi said, ‘the duo elder and younger brother ruled Bihar for 25 years. But did they ever explained to the people about the work done under their regime. Did they spoke about any infrastructure development in the state? They consider themselves as king and are arrogant thats why they don’t consider it worth to give an explanation to the people who voted them to power.”

Prime Minister Modi also pitched education, jobs and healthcare as the BJP-led NDA’s agenda for development of Bihar.

“When I talk of development, I want to stress on six points. I am not here for tall promises. We have three point formulae for the state that is electricity, water and road. We have another three point formulae for the families that is education and employment for youth and medicine for the elderly,” he said.

Hitting out at the duo of Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav over their ‘Bahari’ (outsider) remark, Prime Minister Modi said it was during their rule that the youth of the state were forced to migrate to other states.

“Those who talk of Bahari, I want to inform them that the youth of Bihar were forced to move outside the state during their (Lalu-Nitish) rule. You both are responsible for dismantling two generations during your rule of 25 years,” he added.

Prime Minster Modi reiterated that development remains his core agenda for the Bihar polls. Continuing his tirade against the Bihar Chief Minister, Prime Minister Modi had earlier said the poll-bound state needs ‘democracy’ and not a ‘tantrik’ for its salvation.

“We all know what the election results are going to be on November 8. Everyone knows what will happen. But does ‘tantrik’ Nitish have any idea what will he do once he loses? This atmosphere that I am seeing right now is ripe and an indication towards the defeat of Lalu, Nitish and Sonia ji. The wrongdoers will be punished,” he said while addressing an election rally in Nalanda.
