Johannesburg : Former Pakistan cricketers has called for a major overhaul within the national cricket squad after the Shahid Afridi -led side made an early exit from the ongoing World T20 in India.

Pakistan failed to replicate their dominant win over Bangladesh in the opening match as they went on to lose three consecutive matches against fierce rivals India, New Zealand and Australia to get themselves knocked out of the T20 format’s pinnacle tournament.

Speaking to a local news channel, former Pakistan skipper-turned-commentator Rameez Raja said that his country’s cricket team have lagged behind so much that they do not stand a chance to win any major tournaments, Sport24 reported.

He also suggested that several players need to be sacked and called for the introduction of new players who will take at least three years to perform.

Former Test specialist Mohammad Yousaf urged the PCB, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, former cricket greats, media and cricket fans to unite and get Pakistan out of its misery. (ANI)
