Kadapa: Former Union Minister Sai Pratap joined the Telugu Desam Party here on Thursday.
Sai Pratap was elected from Rajampet Lok Sabha segment for six terms and he had served as Union Minister during UPA Regime. He is believed to a strong leader of Kapu community in Reddy-dominated Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.
He joined the TDP in the presence of TDP president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He said he had joined the TDP only after consulting his supporters. He said he would strengthen the TDP in Kadapa district. Criticising Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he alleged that she had bifurcated Andhra Pradesh by going against the advise of State Congress leaders. (INN)
