Expedite land acquisition for Railway works: CS

Chief Secretary SP Singh today directed the officials concerned to expedite the works related to land acquisition and others for railway projects, road over-bridges and road under-bridges at various places in the State.

At a high-level meeting with Railway, electricity, Roads Buildings, GHMC, HMWS&SB and others at Secretariat, the Chief Secretary reviewed on the railway line works and asked the officials to coordinate and complete the task at the earliest. The meeting assumes significance in the wake of the Centre gave its nod for the Land Acquistion Act followed by President Pranab Mukherjee’s assent for the Bill.  

The State government will release funds for the works done, SP Singh said. He said they will review once two months on various issues and the need for speeding up the works of the railway projects. He said funds will be released to projects taken up at Medak-Akkannapet, Manoharabad-Kothapalli railway lines as per the works done. He also discussed on the construction of Railway Terminal at Vattinagulapally and others. He said the works of land acquisition should be speeded up for Nagulapally along with joint survey works.

Instructing the officials to speedily acquire land for Munirabad-Mahabunagar railway line, the Chief Secretary asked them to get immediate permissions from the Collectors of respective districts to ensure that for constructing limited sub-ways at 28 unmanned railway level crossings. He also directed the officials to complete the construction works for approach roads for those nine railway road over-bridges. Regular reviews with the Collectors concerned are on for various railway projects being taken up and taking necessary measures for speedy completion. The Chief Secretary also discussed on the road over-bridges and road under-bridges and phase two of MMTS under GHMC limits. (NSS)
