F1 star Jenson Button and wife ‘gassed unconscious’ in home burglary

London, Aug 07 : Jenson Button and his wife Jessica have been gassed by raiders during a burglary in their holiday villa in the south of France, according to the British Formula One driver’s spokesman.

Button’s spokesman said that two men broke into the property while they were asleep and stole a number of items of jewellery including, Jessica’s engagement ring, the BBC reported.

He further said that the police indicated that this has become a growing problem in the region with perpetrators going so far as to gas their proposed victims through the air conditioning units before breaking in.

According to reports, valuables worth 300,000pound were stolen from the couples’ villa in Saint-Tropez.

Button, who is based in Monaco, won the F1 championship in 2009 and currently drives for team McLaren. (ANI)
