RSS man accused in killing reverted Faisal found dead

Malappuram: One of the main accused in the in the sensational murder case of Islamic convert Faisal in Kodinhi was found dead on Thursday morning.

30-year-old Vipin, an RSS worker, who was out on bail following murder accusations of Faisal, was found at Pulinchode, Tirurangadi on the road with serious injuries at 7:30 a.m in Malappuram district.

He was rushed to the nearest government hospital, where he was declared dead.

Following the murder, large number of policemen have been deployed in the area and prohibitory orders were declared in and around Tirur.

Earlier on August 2, another accused of the case, Thayyil Lijeesh, was attacked by an unknown gang and it was alleged that it was a murder attempt.

Lijeesh, 27, who was out on bail, was injured when an Innova car hit his motorbike at Parappanangadi. Alleging that the accident was a deliberate attempt to kill him, Lijeesh had lodged a compla int with the Parappanangadi Police.

On November 19, 2016, Kodinhi Faisal alias Anil Kumar, who converted to Islam, was hacked to death allegedly by Sangh Parivar supporters in Kodinhi.

Fondly known as Unni, Faisal’s body was found with deep cuts by a sharp-edged weapon on his head and stomach in a drain at Farooq Nagar in Kodinhi.

Eight people have been arrested following the murder including Faisal’s brother-in-law Vinosh, an RSS member.
