Fake lifejackets for refugees

1,200 fake life jackets that would have been sold to refugees were seized by Turkish authorities in a raid.

They would have been sold to the refugees trying to cross the Aegean Sea to Greece.

The life jackets were made of material that becomes heavy when soaked and cause the wearer to sink.

34 refugees, including at least 3 children, were found dead on January 5th after their boats capsized in rough seas.

Almost 3,000 people per day are arriving in Greece from Turkey.

Till date 3771 people drowned trying to reach Europe in 2015.
