Farmers should get money: Minister tells Collectors

Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy today expressed displeasure over the officials concerned for failing to give money to farmers for selling their produce at the markets.

     At a review meeting with collectors of Ranga Reddy, Malkajgiri and Vikarabad districts here, the minister directed that the farmers should be paid immediately through opening bank accounts if they are  not available. Keeping in the demonetization problems in view, the people are facing problem of withdrawing their money from the banks and ATMs and standing in long queues for hours, he said. However, the collectors should take steps to see that the farmers are paid for their agricultural produce without any further delay, he asserted. Mahender Reddy said that the farmers, women of self help groups and students should not face the problem in withdrawing their money from the banks and ATMs. He said that he will focus on the development of Vikarabad district in a speedy manner.(NSS)
