Kanpur: A father killed his19-year-old daughter and her boyfriend in the name of “family honor,” after finding them talking to each other in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba district on Monday morning, police said.
Moolchand Ahirwar, a resident of the district’s Kulpahar region axed his daughter Geeta Ahirwar and her boyfriend Sunil who were going to get married this Saturday.
Moolchand himself has fixed their marriage when he came to know about their relationship. He also warned Sunil not to go around his daughter.
On Sunday night when Moolchand was away Sunil arrived at Geeta’s place. Early on Monday morning, he found his daughter and Sunil talking this made him angry and he picked up the axe and allegedly hacked both of them to death.
Moolchand was handed over to the police by the villagers. Circle officer Kulpahar Vinod Singh said that the murder weapon was found in the room and Moolchand is currently being held in a lock-up and a murder case has been registered against him.
