Islamabad: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General (DG) Mohammad Amlish has been removed from his position.
The move came hours after the FIA DG attended a high-level meeting, chaired by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, where he was grilled about reports that were leaked to the media.

As per reports, the DG asked the Interior Minister in the meeting whether he had lost his confidence to which the latter replied that he would talk in this regard later.

During the meeting, the Interior Minister also asked the FIA to submit its long, medium and short-term plans for reorganisation of the agency and to specify the timeline set for these plans. (ANI)
