Five girl students booked for ragging junior in Jodhpur

Jodhpur : In an alleged case of ragging, five girl students from Jodhpur have been booked under the stringent POCSO Act.

The girls reportedly forced the victim to strip naked.

“When she (victim) went to the washroom, she was ragged and they tried to sexually assault her. She was forced to strip naked. After which she was so threatened and horrified that she refused to go to school,” said Manish Dev, SHO, Pratap Nagar.

He also said that when the family member went to school to enquire about the incident the school tried to hush up the grave matter.

“They didn’t take any action and tried to conceal the facts. The girls have been booked under POCSO Act,” he added

Victim’s relative demanded implementation of Anti-ragging committee in every school so that such incidents are never repeated.

“Anti-ragging committee should be implemented in every school. And the government should issue guidelines to the schools authority to stop ragging,” said a relative of a victim.

“We have come here to lodge an FIR in Pratab Nagar police station. It was her first day. She was mentally tortured and indecent language were used by them. School authority tried to hide the incident and also didn’t cooperate with us. They even did not allow us to meet with the girls (accused). Police is investigating the matter,” he added. (ANI)
