Five held for attack on engineers in Makhtal: DGP

Director General of Police Anurag Sharma said that five persons who were involved on attacking the engineers in Makhtal in Mahabubnagar district on Tuesday have been arrested and the action is being taken on others.

The Chief Engineer (Projects), Mahbubnagar along with the Superintendent Engineer of Rajeev Bheema  Lift Irrigation Scheme Project (RBLISP) and Executive Engineer of Atmakur and the concerned Dy. Executive and Assistant Executive Engineers visited the project site  of Phase I lift –II pumping stations  for trail Run yesterday.  When they are working on project site, the local politicians have interrupted the duties of the officials and attacked for not inviting them for trail run programme despite the officers tried to convince the politicians saying that the trail run is part of testing and does not invoke protocol.

Mahabubnagar MLA Srinivas Goud, along with the TGOs and TNGOs, met the DGP today in his office and gave a representation on the brutal attack on the irrigation engineers and appealed for taking severe action on the politicians.

The DGP said that five persons who were attacked on the officials were already arrested and the action is being viewed on others. This type of attacks will never be tolerated in future, the DGP assured.

Those who met the DGP along with MLA include Devi Prasad, Ravindar Reddy, T.Venkatesham, Sridhar Deshpande, Hameed, Satyanarayan, Krishna Yadav, Mohan Singh, Chakravarthy, Narendar Reddy and Jupally Ramesh. (INN)
