Jaipur: Five persons were killed and one other was injured after the car in which they were travelling collided head-on with a speeding truck in Jhunjhunu district, police said today.
The incident took place late last night when the car coming from Surajgarh rammed into the truck killing Rahul Jangid (17), Krishn Kant (21), Mukesh Rewal (28), Sandeep Jangid (22) and Sandeep Meel (22) on the spot, investigation officer Jogendra Singh said.
The victims returning to Jhunjhunu after attending a marriage ceremony. The accident was so severe that all five died on spot and truck driver too got injured, he said.
“We have handed over the bodies to family members following post mortem examination. A case has been registered against the truck driver Harendra Kumar,” Singh said.
