Five killed in Lebanon blast

Beirut: At least five people were killed and six others injured on Thursday in a bombing that targeted a meeting of the al-Qalamoun Muslim Scholars committee in Lebanese town of Arsal, a media report said.
Citing local National News Agency, that the explosives used in the attack were hidden in a motorcycle that was parked near the meeting place of the al-Qalamoun Muslim scholars committee, which advocates helping Syrian refugees.
The committee has also been involved in mediation for the release of Lebanese servicemen kidnapped in Arsal in 2014 by Al Qaeda linked Al Nusra Front and Islamic State militants who overran the town briefly and engaged with the army in a fierce battle.
