Focus on work not ‘Mann Ki Baat’: JD (U) tells PM

New Delhi, Nov 29 : The Janata Dal (United) on Sunday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ holds no significance if he does not concentrate on the nation’s development.

JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav said there is no work on the ground ever since the BJP-led NDA Government has come to power at the Centre.

“These kinds of talks are going on for years but the situation has never changed. They should focus on work otherwise this ‘Mann ki Baat’ has no use. The country becomes strong by bringing changes in the lives of the poor, dalits, farmers etc. I want to tell them that they should work on the promises made to the nation. The people have voted him to power not to give mere speeches but to work and he should work,” Yadav told ANI.

Addressing the 14th edition of his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, the Prime Minister drew the nation’s attention towards climate change.

Prime Minister Modi talked about LED bulb scheme. He referred to Noor Jehaan of Kanpur Uttar Pradesh who has set up a solar lantern plant and lends out solar lantern to housewives at 100 rupees per month.

Referring to burning of crop residues by farmers in Punjab and Haryana, the Prime Minister said these residues are valuable and can be cut into small pieces and converted into organic manure.

He gave several suggestions on making good use of crop residue.

Conveying sympathies to the people of Tamil Nadu affected by recent floods, Mr. Modi said heavy downpour and unseasonal rainfalls are also impact of global warming.

Prime Minister Modi also spoke about Ek Bahrat Shrestha Bharat scheme and asked the people to come forward with more suggestions to give the programme a specific shape. (ANI)
