Forest officials rescue panther from residential area in Jaipur

Jaipur: Forest officials rescued a panther from a residential area in Jaipur on Saturday.

A young panther strayed into a residential colony and was spotted by the locals at around 7:00 a.m. when it was sitting in the backyard of a building.

Forest officials were informed about the big cat and a joint search operation was launched along with police to tranquilize the panther and rescue it.

“The moment we got to know that it has entered the bathroom, we locked one of the doors and from the other side the rescue team entered the room to tranquilize the panther,” said Sanjay Paliwal, a resident.

The panther was jumping the walls at a height of about 8 meters striking panic among the locals.

“The way panther was jumping, locals were at risk. Many of them were standing in the area but they were unharmed,” said another resident Himanshu. (ANI)
