Formation of new districts – Collectors’ meeting today

Hyderabad: CM of Telangana State, Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao has convened a meeting of collectors in Secretariat at 10:30 a.m. today to discuss various issues pertaining to proposed new districts. Distribution of employees in various departments will also be taken up. KCR has instructed the collectors to reach Hyderabad with full details.

It is reported that more than 32, 000 objections have been received on Govt. website. Officials of Task Force scrutinized these proposals for three days. In the collectors’ meeting, it is hoped that all the objections would be reviewed. Issues like office accommodation, posting of officials, infrastructure and other matters would be discussed in the meeting. Reliable sources indicated that after the abolition of Zonal System, State and District level officials are anxious to know the details. It has been decided to constitute another committee to review such issues. Employees’ Unions will also be given representations on this committee.

There are campaigns at many places demanding to elevate certain towns to district levels. It is proposed to amend the draft proposal of Warangal district.
