Hyderabad: Former DEO of Sarva Shiksha Abhyan, Mr. M. Somi Reddy who was incharge during 2015 was grilled by Inspector of Police, Mr. P. Ravindra Reddy at CCS.
It may be mentioned that police had arrested two officials of the Dept. of School Education alleging that they were involved in misappropriation case of the grants issued to Deeni Madrasas in the name of Vidya Volunteers. The kingpin of the scam, Mohammed Zubair was arrested by the police and sent to prison. Later he was interrogated.
Mr. Somi Reddy was commissioned by the police and his statement was recorded.
It may be mentioned that Syeda Zohra Unisa, a Vidya Volunteer of Madrasa tul Uloom had filed a complaint against its director. Police had registered criminal cases against 12 persons and had initiated probe in this regard.
