Former legislators urge KCR, Naidu to fulfill promises of pension hike

Hyderabad: Former Legislators Forum has urged the Telugu Chief Ministers to fulfill their assurances given in the past when the State remained united.
Forum founder-president former MLA K Subba Raju urged both Telugu Chief Ministers K Chandrasekhar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu to take decisions in the current budget session on enhancing pension amount, grant of local allowance and free train travel facility. He also reminded that the Assembly Amenities Committee recommendations had come for discussion on United Andhra Pradesh State’s last session’s last day but they were not passed due to technical reasons. He said that the Delhi, Assam, Maharashtra and Karnataka states were increased the pension of former MLAs and asked the Telugu states to increase the pension following the above said states.
He said that the Telugu states have to provide the pension, medical allowance and train traveling facility provided by the Karnataka state. He said that the backward states and north-earth states too extending Rs.60,000 per month and providing Rs.1 lakh to 3 lakh worth free train traveling facility to the former members. He sent memorandums in this regard to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states speakers, Council Chairmen and floor leaders on Friday. (NSS)
