Former Obama adviser calls Trump ‘psychopath’

Washington: US President Barack Obama’s former campaign manager David Plouffe labelled Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump a “psychopath” who met the clinical definition of the personality disorder, the media reported.

In an interview with NBC News, Plouffe was challenged for not being qualified to call Trump a psychopath, so he went on to list symptoms associated with the disorder he attributed to Trump: “grandiose notion of self-worth, pathological lying, lack of empathy and remorse”.

Plouffe was certain that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton would win as she has guaranteed 269 electoral votes, including those from Virginia and Colorado, Press TV reported on Monday.

“There’s maybe a 20 per cent chance it’s close — 2 or 3 points; I think it’s likely going to be a landslide,” he said.

Obama has also been a staunch critic of Trump during his remaining time in office.

“The Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president,” Obama said during a press conference in the White House earlier this month.

Obama said Trump “doesn’t have the judgment, the temperament, the understanding to occupy the most powerful position in the world”.

Trump recently said that Clinton “lacks the mental and physical stamina” to run the country.

Clinton has also taken a jab at Trump, saying he is fuelling America’s “radical fringe” with racist rhetoric.
