Former village head shot dead in UP

Shahjahanpur: A former village head was allegedly shot dead over old enmity in the district today, police said.

Gurudev Singh (45) was on his way to his agriculture field from Bakhtiyarpur when four persons, including Vijay Kumar Tillu of the same village, shot him, Puvayan police station in-charge Harish Rajput said.

Property related enmity is thought to be the reason behind the incident, the official said.

An FIR has been lodged and efforts are on to nab the accused, he said.
