Cyber Crime Police of Cyberabad arrested four persons here for running illegal VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) call routing exchanges at Miyapur, Pragathi Nagar and Madhura Nagar Hyderabad.
On credible information that some persons were routing the VOIP calls (Voice over Internet Protocol) calls illegally by using SIM gateways (fixing local SIM cards in that SIM card slots) and facilitating international VOIP calls on GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) numbers bypassing the ILD (International Long Distance) gateways, a team consisting of police and BSNL Technical officers raided the address of the accused persons on September 5 and remanded them to judicial custody on September 6.
Principal accused G. Vijaya Bhasker Reddy r/o Bangalore and n/o Nellore is the mastermind of this offence. It is learnt that the international calls are originating from various countries and using these grey network of illegal exchanges for cheaper call rates and as it does not leave any reverse trace of the original international number from where the calls are originating. The activities of these persons are making huge profits to them and causing loss to the exchequers of the Government and are security concern to the nation.

A4. Kappa Ramesh Kumar s/o Kappa Venkata Krishnaiah age: 34 years, occ: DTDC franchise at Vengal Rao Nagar, r/o E117, 1st floor, Flat No.101, Madhuranagar, Yousufguda, Hyderabad n/o Nellore. A5. Jakkampudi Sudhakar s/o Baleshwar Rao, age: 34 years, occ: Marketing Execute at Herbal Life r/o Plot No.138, Flat No.204, Satyam Apartments, Siddhartha Nagar, SR Nagar, Hyderabad n/o Prakasam.
Police seized incriminating material evidence from their residence. 1) DINSTAR- 32 port SIM card Gateway – 05, 2) DINSTAR- 16 port SIM card Gateway – 03, 3) SIM Cards – 403, 4) Routers – 25, 5) Cell Phones – 09
The case is investigated by K. Bala Krishna Reddy, Inspector of Police with the assistance of SIs G. Shekar, K. Srinivas, and K. Vijayvardhan under the supervision of Jayaram, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime PS and under the guidance of Stephen Ravindra IPS, Jt. Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad Sandeep Shandilya, I.P.S, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad; appreciated the work of the officers in detecting the case and arresting the accused. (NSS)
