Four percent reservation for Muslims – Dept. of Minorities Welfare to contact TSPSC

Hyderabad: Dept. of Minorities Welfare has initiated its efforts to ensure 4% reservation for Muslims. It has decided to contact TSPSC before recruitment notification is issued so as to ensure 4% reservation to Muslims in appointments. Former Govt. of A.P. had provided 4% reservations to Muslims in jobs and in educational institutions. Although it was challenged in the court, permission was given to continue its implementation.

 

CM of Telangana State, Mr. KCR announced to fill up one lakh vacancies and as its first phase 15000 posts have been advertised. The process of recruitment will start next month. TSPSC has started its preparation. Govt. has raised upper age limit to 44 years for this year.

 

The officials of Dept. of Minorities Welfare convened a meeting and resolved to make a representation to TSPSC. Out of 15000 vacancies, various departments will make recruitments on 6000 posts. The remaining vacancies would be filled up by TSPSC.

 

It is responsibility of voluntary organizations to persuade eligible Muslim candidates to apply to these posts. The largest recruitments will take place in police department where 2681 vacancies exists.

 

A former official of the Govt. who was associated with the process of recruitment told that it is not difficult for TSPSC to implement 4% reservation for Muslims but the Muslims should be vigilant to get this reservation.
