Four prevented from jumping into Hussain Sagar lake in suicide bid

Hyderabad: On the intervening night of June 25 and 26, the Hussain Sagar police rescued four persons — one male, two females and a child — while they were about to commit suicide by jumping into the lake.
The rescued were identified as B. Ramesh, S. Kavitha, K. Shaba and her son Thamantej, In the first incident, B. Ramesh, 40, a car driver of Banda Maisamma Nagar, Kavadiguda, Secunderabad tried to jump into Hussain Sagar Lake near Children’s park on Monday at 10.30 pm. During interrogation, it was revealed that Ramesh is married and has two children. He turned into an alcoholic and quarrels with his wife every day. On Monday evening, he went home fully drunk and quarrelled with his wife and children. Depressed over the incident, he tried to jump into the lake to end his life. Lake police station SHO T. Chenchulababu counselled him and sent to Barosa for further action.
In the second occurred on Monday at 11.30 hours, S. Kavitha, 26, a housewife of Cheelapur village under Bejjanki mandal of Karimnagar district attempted to jump into the lake at upper tank bund near Lepakshi. Kavitha said she and Sharatkumar loved each other and married. However, this morning, Kavitha and her husband quarrelled over a petty matter. She went into depression and decided to end her life and came to upper tankbund near Lepakshi and tried to jump into the water. The Lake patrolling police noticed her and prevented her from jumping into water. After counseling, she was handed over to her family.
In the third incident occurred on June 26 at 12.30 pm, housewife K. Shoba, 24, of Vinayaknagar, Khairthabad tried to jump into water at upper tank bund near Lepakshi along with her four-year old son Thamantej.
Interrogation revealed that the victim had love marriage with K. Pawan in 2012 and blessed with Thamantej. On a petty issue, she quarreled with her husband this morning and she went into depression. She decided to end her life and came to upper tankbund near Lepakshi along with her son and tried to jump into the water. Immediately, the Lake patrol police noticed them and saved their lives. After a counseling, the police handed her over to her husband. The patrolling Blue Colts found the victims moving in a suspicious manner and rescued them from committing suicide. (NSS)
