Four youths meet watery grave in Krishna at Gidugu


Four youth died on the fifth day of Krishna Pushkaralu at Gidugu in Amaravathi mandal here on Tuesday when they tried to swim in the river.


According to the reports, the police identified the four youth as Harish (Rayanapadu village), Nagesh (Jayanthi village), Lokesh (Nandigama village) and Gopi Reddy (Cherukupalem village). The youth disappeared when they went to swim in the river as the stream current was severe. Responding on it, the emergency team reached the spot and launched search for the bodies. The bodies of Harish, Nagesh and Lokesh were found by the Emergency Team except Gopi Reddy’s body.

It is learnt that the four students died belonged to Chaithanya Junior College. It is also learnt that there were no Pushkar Ghats where the students went for swimming. Police said some students had come on bikes to the spot where nobody roams. (NSS)
