Ganapati Visarjan process starts in Mumbai

Mumbai, Sept. 27 : The process of Ganapati Visarjan has started in Mumbai with lakhs of people participating in the procession.

Most of the major Sarvajonik Ganapatis have started the procession with active participation from the devotees.

Lalbaugh Cha Raja, Ganesh Galli Ganapati among others has started their procession which would take long hours to reach Girgaun Chowpatty where the idols would be finally immersed.

The beaches at Girgaun, Juhu and Dadar are presently crowded with devotees performing the Bisarjan of household Ganapati idols as immersion of all the Sarvojanik Ganapati idols would begin in the evening.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made which includes deployment of nearly 35,000 police personals.

Devotees are leaving no stone unturned to pay a ceremonial farewell to the most widely worshipped God of the metropolis with sounds of dhol, tasha, kartal, and various other musical instruments filling the air making everyone take notice of the annual mega event.

Popular immersion sites like Girgaun, Dadar and Juhu beaches in Mumbai sea front have all been decked up and barricaded to receive the thronging devotees.

This year the state administration has deployed special German Cranes to carry out the immersion of idols. (ANI)
