Gurgaon:The wife of a gangster was shot dead in Bhondsi area here this morning allegedly by some unidentified car-borne assailants, police said.
Sushma Rathi (32) was returning home after dropping her daughter at the bus stop for school when she was hit with bullets on her head and chest, leaving her dead on the spot, they said.
It is suspected that three to four assailants were involved and a probe is on with the police having recovered from Ballabgarh the vehicle allegedly used in the crime, PRO Gurgaon Police Hawa Singh said.
The car was found in burnt condition, he added.
Sushma’s husband Ashok Rathi is serving life sentence at Bhondsi jail, he said.
Ashok was arrested in March 2014. He was booked in 28 cases including murder, attempt to murder, loot and extortion, the PRO said.
