Sahibabad: At least 12 people were reportedly killed and several others severely injured after fire broke out at a garment factory in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.
The fire broke around 3 am at the factory which was being run in a residential area, eyewitnesses told CNN-News18. The workers were sleeping in a cramped leather factory housed in a residential building when the blaze broke out.
A short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire.Twelve fire engines were sent to the spot to control the fire while 14 people were shifted to the nearest hospital for primary treatment.
The Chief Minister has directed the Ghaziabad District Hospital to provide adequate help to all those affected by the fire, it said.
